Lake Martin near Cressy will be available for duck hunting from Tuesday, May 29.
Lake Martin was closed for the opening weekend of the Victorian season due to the presence of Curlew Sandpiper to minimise disturbance prior to their migration to Asia.
Curlew Sanpiper numbers continued to grow from 100 to 800 through March as the lake dried and it has remained closed to hunting since March 30.
A private wetland (south of Stanhope, near the junction of Two-Tree Road and Girgarre - Rushwoth Road): which was closed to hunting due to a significant number of Freckled Duck will also open on Tuesday.
