Entries Now Open for the 2027 Field & Game Australia Duck Stamp 

The Field & Game Australia Duck Stamp has quickly become much more than an annual competition. 

Each edition celebrates Australia's native waterfowl through the eyes of talented artists while recognising the wetlands and wildlife that sit at the heart of Field & Game Australia's conservation story. Every stamp becomes part of a growing collection that reflects not only exceptional wildlife art, but also our ongoing commitment to protecting the habitats these remarkable birds depend upon. 

With each passing year, the collection grows—and so too does the legacy behind it. 

We're delighted to announce that entries are now open for the 2027 Field & Game Australia Duck Stamp Competition. 

More Than a Stamp 

Duck Stamps have long been recognised around the world as symbols of conservation, combining outstanding wildlife art with a shared appreciation for wetlands and waterfowl. While Australia's approach is uniquely our own, the principle remains the same—celebrating the beauty of native birdlife while highlighting the importance of protecting the environments that sustain it. 

Since reviving the Field & Game Australia Duck Stamp in 2024, the response from artists and members alike has been overwhelming. Each year has showcased not only remarkable artistic talent, but also a genuine passion for Australia's native ducks and the landscapes they inhabit. 

Selecting a winning artwork has become an increasingly difficult task. 

The inaugural stamp featured the striking Chestnut Teal, beautifully illustrated by Field & Game Australia Board Member Paul Sharp. This was followed by Gayle Newcomb's stunning portrayal of the Pink-eared Duck, a work admired for both its technical excellence and its appreciation of one of Australia's most distinctive waterfowl.  

Now, the search begins for the next artist to join this growing collection.

Whether you are an established wildlife artist or someone who simply enjoys capturing Australia's natural beauty on canvas or paper, the Duck Stamp Competition offers a unique opportunity. 

The successful artwork will become the official 2027 Field & Game Australia Duck Stamp, reproduced for members, collectors and supporters across Australia. It is an opportunity to contribute to a tradition that celebrates both artistic excellence and Australia's rich hunting and conservation heritage. 

Long after the competition has closed, your artwork will remain part of Field & Game Australia's story. 

Competition Details:

The 2027 competition celebrates the theme: Australian Native Ducks and Wetlands 

Entries should be submitted as original paintings or drawings, with high-resolution digital images provided for judging. Finished artwork should measure approximately 10 x 8 inches and submissions are welcomed from both emerging and established Australian artists.
