2023 Victorian Quail Season
Published Thu 23 Mar 2023

The GMA has announced a modified 2023 Victorian quail season. Despite an unprecedented population estimate of 9 million stubble quail in Victoria this year (up from 3 million in 2022) the minister has slashed the length of the season – announcing it will run the same period of time as the 2023 Victorian Duck season (26 April to 30 May).
It seems the minister for Outdoor Recreation has struck again. This decision mirrors the duck season modifications. There has been No consultation with hunters, No regard to expert advice and No attention to the Government’s own Game Management Authority.
This Minister MUST be held accountable for her blatant bias and the fact she is seemingly taking advice straight from the anti-hunting lobby, while ignoring all facts and science.
