FGA Priorities Ahead of Victorian Election
Published Wed 28 Oct 2026
With the Victorian election approaching on 28 November, Field & Game Australia has released an advocacy brochure outlining its priorities for the next Victorian Government and the contribution members make to conservation, responsible hunting and clay target shooting.
The four-page brochure highlights FGA’s key priorities, including stronger long-term partnerships for wetlands and State Game Reserves, maintaining duck hunting on a stable, science-based footing, retaining hunting and conservation expertise in outdoor recreation arrangements, fair and timely firearms administration, and transparent reinvestment in habitat conservation, hunting and volunteer clubs.
How members can help
FGA is encouraging members to help share this message within their local communities. Members can use the brochure when speaking with their local MP, election candidates, councils and community leaders to explain the role Field & Game plays in their area.
Local examples can help bring these priorities to life. Whether it is wetland restoration, conservation projects, volunteer efforts, junior participation or providing sporting opportunities and community facilities, every branch has a story to tell about the value it brings to its community.
FGA’s approach is non-partisan. The aim is to ensure candidates understand the organisation’s three pillars - We Conserve, We Hunt and We Compete; and the practical contribution its members make across Victoria.
Members and branches who meet with or correspond with MPs or candidates are encouraged to share details of their discussions and any commitments made with National Office. This will help FGA maintain a consistent approach to advocacy across the state.
Download the advocacy brochure below to learn more about FGA’s priorities and how you can help communicate our message ahead of the Victorian election.
