MEMBER UPDATE -VICTORIAN FIREARMS LAW REFORMS
Published Tue 26 May 2026
MEMBER NOTICE – VICTORIAN FIREARMS LAW REFORMS
NO CAPS!
The Victorian Government has released the Rapid review of Victoria's firearms laws (Ken Lay) report, and its response - read them here:
Importantly the Victorian Government has rejected a cap on Category A and B firearm ownership.
Field & Game Australia (FGA) welcomes this outcome.
The Government has recognised the legitimate and lawful needs of primary producers, hunters, collectors, and sporting shooters in rejecting this baseless recommendation.
FGA will review the full details of the proposed reforms and provide further updates to members in due course.
