Field & Game Australia Lodges Waterway Strategy Submission

Field & Game Australia has lodged its submission on the Victorian Government's draft Third Victorian Waterway Management Strategy, ensuring our members' experience and contribution to wetland conservation is represented in the development of future waterway policy.

Our submission supports the Strategy's overall direction while advocating for stronger recognition of the role that responsible hunters and community volunteers play in wetland restoration, habitat management, biosecurity, pest animal control and citizen science.

The submission also highlights the significant conservation contribution made by Field & Game Australia members during the 2024–25 reporting year, including more than $726,000 in reported pest and predator control activity, 52 conservation and nesting projects, and a growing volunteer effort across Victoria.

Advocating on behalf of our members and ensuring practical conservation is recognised in government policy remains an important part of Field & Game Australia's work.
