Waterfowl Identification Tests
To obtain a licence to hunt duck in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and South Australia, individuals must first sit and pass the Waterfowl Identification Test.
The Waterfowl Identification Test, or WIT, is administered in Victoria by the Game Management Authority (GMA), with mutual recognition in all four states. This means if you sit your WIT in Victoria, you will not have to re-sit it to apply for a South Australian hunting permit. If you require your WIT results or qualification number, please contact the GMA on 136 186.
Several FGA branches hold WIT training and test sessions in the lead-up to the regulated season in Victoria.
