Definition Guidance for waterbird count
The primary Focus of the counts is to identify waterbird number including many non-game species. "providing invaluable information on the ecosystem health of wetlands and rivers"
Information the count requires is
- Wetland Name - name of the wetland being monitored
- DELWP Region - there are six regions FGA is simply aligning with them GV Hume, Gippsland, Metro (Port Phillip), Grampians, Loddon Mallee and Barwon SW.
- Percentage of Wetland Counted - The estimated are of the wetland counted.
- Percentage of Water Covering Wetland - The amount of water covering the bed of the Wetland.
- Estimated Percentage to Full Area - INSERt DEFINITION HERE
- Waterbird Numbers - the number of waterbirds seen for each of the species.
- Clutches and Young - if any breeding was observed
- Non Game Species - examples given in listing but please add any species you feel are relvant particulary if a threat to closure.
- Threat to Closure - INSEEEEEERT DEFINITAION
- Time Taken to Conduct the Count - the amount of ime taken to conduct the actual count on the wetland including travel time.
- Kilometres Travelled- how far was travelled to conduct the count IS THIS DURING OR BEFORE AFTER? LIKE AN ECONOMIC IMPAACT FOR VOLUUNTEER
